Energy suppliers and network operators – your partner in the energy transition

As an energy supplier or grid operator, you face the challenge of integrating ever-increasing amounts of decentralised generation into your grid safely and on schedule. WT Energiesysteme plans and builds substations for you in the 10 to 380 kV range – from the initial feasibility study right through to turnkey handover. For over 20 years, we have been implementing grid connections for utility companies and grid operators throughout Germany, providing you with something that is crucial in day-to-day project work: a single point of contact who takes responsibility from the initial planning stage right through to handover.

Increasing demands

Increasing feed-in, growing loads

Rising feed-in, growing loads and strict regulatory requirements present complex challenges for utilities and network operators. We support you in planning networks efficiently and making optimal use of existing capacity – from network analysis and load management to expansion strategies tailored to your specific network situation.

Everything under one roof

Substations from a single source – from planning to commissioning

The expansion of the grid infrastructure leaves no room for inefficiencies at interfaces. That is why we provide the full range of services for your substation from a single source: feasibility study, preparation and submission of planning application documents, design and detailed planning for structural, primary and secondary systems, project organisation and coordination, procurement and installation of all components, programming of protection and control systems, and comprehensive testing and commissioning. This streamlines your coordination processes, ensures responsibilities remain clearly defined, and enables your project to be connected to the grid according to plan.

Experience that speaks for itself

Why energy suppliers and network operators rely on WT Energiesysteme

For utility companies and network operators, meeting deadlines, compliance with network standards and operational reliability are key. Our working methods are precisely geared towards these objectives. With over 250 substations commissioned, we possess the experience required for complex high- and extra-high-voltage projects up to 380 kV. We manufacture our own switchgear, protection, control and telecontrol cabinets in-house, which means we are recognised by all German network operators – a decisive advantage for seamless integration into your network.

A point of contact

Rule-based processes and a dedicated point of contact

Planning, manufacturing and installation work in close collaboration at our company. A dedicated project manager oversees your project across all trades, coordinates those involved and ensures that deadlines, quality and safety standards are met. This significantly reduces your management workload and provides you with transparency regarding the project’s progress at all times.

Ready for tomorrow

Future-proof: grid stability and battery storage

The integration of renewable energy requires flexible grids. In addition to traditional substations, we develop, design and build battery energy storage systems (BESS) from 5 MW upwards, with a focus on solutions ranging from 20 to 100 MW – including the grid connection point. In this way, we help you to stabilise your grid, provide balancing energy and play an active role in shaping the energy transition.

A brief explanation

Frequently asked questions from energy suppliers and network operators

Yes. We design and build substations ranging from 10 to 380 kV in strict accordance with the applicable technical connection conditions and the individual specifications of the respective grid operator. We manufacture our switchgear, protection, control and telecontrol cabinets in-house, and they are approved by all German grid operators. In addition, we operate in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 and are SCC-certified. This ensures that your plant is connected to the grid in compliance with standards, verifiable and without the need for rectifications – thereby minimising approval and acceptance risks.
