Our Frankenstein East substation has been in operation since January 22, 2026.
As part of a dual-substation system, it forms—together with Frankenstein West—a scalable integrated system that efficiently integrates the solar farms into the grid.
Particular challenges included the hillside location, the simultaneous construction of both substations with staggered commissioning dates, and the need to store components off-site due to permitting issues.
One of the highlights of the project was its implementation in parallel with Frankenstein West, which was already up and running. At the same time, Frankenstein East served as a training project, allowing our team to apply new processes directly in a real-world setting and gain valuable experience.
The utility connection was fully implemented by our WT team, and the electrical installation went smoothly thanks to our close partner, F&W.
The facility is now ready to make a further contribution to modern energy infrastructure.
