Bickenberg West Substation

Approximately 75 MW of feed-in capacity - 63/80 MVA transformer

Two power transformers with cooling radiators and oil conservator tanks at an electrical substation, illuminated by the warm evening sunlight. High-voltage switchgear, insulators and a single overhead line gantry for the power line connection are visible on the right.

The Bickenberg West substation has been in operation since November 20, 2025.

Since January 2025, we have been implementing the double-circuit project, which will have a grid-connected capacity of approximately 75 MW per circuit when fully operational and will feature a 63/80 MVA transformer at each circuit. The construction period leading up to the final construction assessment in June 2025 proceeded according to plan and laid the foundation for the safe commissioning.

Bickenberg East will follow in the first quarter of 2026. In the future, both sections will be controlled separately from a shared operations building. This ensures resource-efficient and cost-effective implementation of the projects while allowing for the expandability of the medium-voltage switchgear.

We look forward to successfully completing the project with the connection of Bickenberg Ost to the customer's satisfaction.
