About sixty percent of our substations are now built for the wind energy sector

Learn about the technical requirements and solutions behind each substation project.

The 33rd "Windenergietage" in Potsdam are a fixture in our calendar every year. It is an event that is less of a trade fair and more of a forum for specialist knowledge, networking and professional development.

Robert Stefaniak sums it up perfectly.

“Exchange and innovation are the drivers of the energy transition, and that is exactly what the "Windenergietage" stand for.”

In Potsdam, we meet customers, partners and suppliers and get a direct sense of the current mood in the industry.

Many discussions centre on the current market situation. Cost pressures are high and project timelines are often lengthy. This makes it all the more important to plan projects reliably and design them technically in such a way that they stand the test of time. Robert comments:

“We always design our substations for full load capacity so that the customer can expand them later without any problems. This sets a standard of quality that clearly sets us apart in the market.”

Another key topic at the trade fair is the construction of substation buildings, an area in which our high technical standards mean we are particularly well-positioned. At the same time, the extent to which WT Energiesysteme carries out work in-house highlights the difference between us and many competitors: we can build substations almost entirely on our own and are not reliant on external subcontractors.

Our journey continues with the founding of WT Energiespeicher GmbH. Discussions show that storage technologies are increasingly becoming a focus for customers – whether for wind farms, solar parks or combinations of both. Demand is rising steadily and we are ready for the next steps.

However, the 33rd "Windenergietage Potsdam" are not just valuable from a technical perspective. They are a venue with a special atmosphere: relaxed, open and approachable. A place where the entire industry comes together and where networking happens quite naturally.

That’s why we organised a special highlight yesterday evening featuring football legend Ulf Kirsten. A real crowd-puller who added a special touch to the networking events and attracted many guests. For us, it was an all-round successful evening.
