Topping-Out Ceremony for the New Manufacturing Facility
New infrastructure is being built in Riesa to support further growth. The topping-out ceremony marks an important milestone in the expansion of manufacturing and job creation.

Today’s topping-out ceremony marks another important milestone in the expansion of our site in Riesa. In total, we are investing around 40 million euros in the expansion of our company’s infrastructure. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2026.
The focus of today’s topping-out ceremony was on the new production hall with its integrated office and staff facilities. At the same time, a modern office and administration complex with 75 workstations is being built. Planning, project development and work preparation will in future be brought together under one roof. In the long term, a training centre with a training substation will complement the site, where the assembly and grid connection of substations can be practised in a realistic setting.
We are particularly honoured by the attendance of Saxony’s Minister-President Michael Kretschmer. He highlighted the project’s significance for the energy transition: “WT Energiesysteme are proven specialists in energy technology and a strong partner for the energy transition in Saxony. By expanding modern substations, they are making a decisive contribution to the reliable integration of renewable energies into the electricity grid nationwide and to strengthening security of supply in Saxony as well as throughout Germany. The new building not only creates additional jobs but also establishes a centre for future technologies for the training of qualified specialists in the field of grid infrastructure.”
For the WT Group, too, the topping-out ceremony marks the start of a new chapter. With the integration of Elektroanlagenbau Schneider GmbH, expertise is being pooled, capacities expanded and new opportunities created for staff and customers. Elektroanlagenbau Schneider GmbH is becoming part of the WT Group and will continue to operate as EAS Systemtechnik at the Riesa site.
Managing Director Marek Reschke explains:
“For us, Riesa is a location with both a rich history and a promising future. This is where our roots lie, and it is from here that we are continuing to develop steadily. With the new production hall, we are laying the foundations to further expand our growing capacity and meet the increasing demands of our customers.”
Ronald Metzig, Managing Director of Elektroanlagenbau Schneider GmbH, adds: “By moving to Riesa and integrating into the WT Group, we are consistently pursuing our strategy. Our customers benefit from increased capacity, expanded possibilities and even greater operational efficiency.”
With this expansion in Riesa, we are laying the foundations for further growth, modern working conditions and the long-term development of our expertise in the field of energy infrastructure.
