Sustainable Construction of Substations

The Ahausen pilot project brings together cutting-edge switchgear technology and practical experience. A look at the next steps for the energy infrastructure.

As part of the Ahausen pilot project, we carried out the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for the world’s first installation of an 8DAB 40 switchgear assembly at the 8DAB Centre in Frankfurt, in collaboration with our partner Siemens. This marks a decisive step forward for a technologically pioneering project that sets a benchmark for the high-voltage grids of the future.

The FAT provides an opportunity to examine all relevant technical specifications in detail and to foster close collaboration between engineering, project management and all teams involved. Particularly when it comes to new switchgear technologies, this collaboration is a key factor for success in terms of quality, safety and long-term operational reliability.

We have always shared a common commitment with Siemens to the highest standards of quality, reliability and future-proof solutions. The 8DAB 40 makes an important contribution to building resilient infrastructure and to the successful implementation of the energy transition.

The exciting next chapter follows in May.
