Progress Against Cancer: Running Together, Helping Together
158 laps, 24 runners, and a shared goal: WT Energiesysteme is taking a stand against cancer at the charity run.
We also took part as WT Energiesysteme in the 8th NCT/UCC charity run “FortSCHRITT gegen Krebs” in the Großer Garten in Dresden.
The in person run on September 1 was fully booked with 1,000 starting places. A total of 24 volunteer runners from WT Energiesysteme took part. Together, they completed 158 laps and achieved 7th place.
The focus was not only on athletic performance. The NCT/UCC Dresden charity run sends a strong message against cancer and uses the proceeds to support sports and exercise therapy for people with cancer as well as applied cancer research projects.
NCT/UCC Dresden closely combines cancer research and patient care. The aim is to make new findings from research available for the treatment of cancer patients as quickly as possible.
The sense of community behind the event was also evident away from the running track. Some colleagues brought their children along to show their support, and one colleague's wife even completed a lap with a stroller.
WT Energiesysteme supported the charity run not only as a co sponsor. In addition, the laps completed by our colleagues were also recognized with a donation, providing further support for the good cause.
A big thank you to everyone who took part on behalf of WT and helped send a message against cancer through their commitment.
